Gas Street Basin January 1979

There hasn't been enough about boats on the blog recently, so here are some shots from Gas Street Basin and around from January 1979. Our annual New Year Boat Trip had to be cancelled that year. These shots show you why!

what was then their office at Gas Street Basin

Trip Boat Anson, also at Gas Street. Holden's Brewery is still going strong today.

Old Turn, Looking towards Wolverhampton. That's the Oozells Street Loop going off to the left.
The Main Line ahead is now a popular visitor moorings overlooked by flats.

Willow Wren at Rugby, from whom we were hiring, had cancelled the booking due to the ice, but I found time to stop off on my train journey from Llanelli back to Salford University to see what was (or wasn't) happening on the cut in Brum.
