One of the Advantages. . .

One of the advantages of buses over canals as a hobby is that there are a lot more NEW things to go and visit with buses.

Such as the new bus station in Blackburn. . .
Pretty unexceptional from the outside

But a bit more effort went into the interior design

Good use being made of the unconventional seating

Plenty of high-quality information

and, more importantly plenty of passengers
There's only one downside. The UK, almost uniquely in Europe, is very bad at transport integration and particularly at bus-rail interchange, where we seem to go out of our way to make things as difficult as possible. (There ought to be an EU Regulation about it!) Blackburn's old bus station was actually sited immediately outside the railway station, but the new one is much further away although admittedly it is very handy for the new shopping centre.
