When I bought Starcross it's Boat Safety Certificate wasn't due to expire for 18 months - which then seemed the far distant future. Then, only weeks later, I found it was time to get a new one. With a full four years on the new ticket it seemed as if it would last for ever but now, after what seems like only a few months, along comes a letter from British Waterways "reminding" me that my time is nearly up and I ought to be thinking about booking a test for yet another one!
Last time we were totally unprepared for the exam - and paid the price with a list of failures as long as your arm, some of which we could put right but others which required the paid services of Norbury Wharf. We hope to do better this time!
