Overheard on the towpath - an occasional series

Overheard on the towpath at Norbury Wharf visitor moorings where a long line of liveaboard and continuously cruising boats were tied up:


First towpath walker: Why do they all have these great big logs of wood on the roof?
Second towpath walker: It will be for their fires.
First towpath walker: No, that can't be it, you can't put big logs like that onto a fire!


Not for the first time on the cut I kept a straight face and looked the other way!
