It was all-go on the Trent

I'm a bit behind with the blog at the moment, so after Friday's adventures on the Trent we were looking forward to a rather more relaxing day to complete our journey to Nottingham. But summer Saturdays on the river are not exactly devoid of interest.

We saw:
Big "Dutch" barges - so much more convincing than those seen on the narrow canals!
This wonderful 1930s ex-Navy tender, originally steam powered but now converted to diesel.
Enormous locks with fierce paddles
Inflatable boats having a race.
More racing. (I was glad Bernard was steering for this one!)
and even a double-decker!
No doubt just a normal Saturday on the Trent!
